Add a product
Items, digital products and services, with their price, stock, link, photos and video.
In Salescom: Catalog > Add product
- Open Catalog and press Add product.
- A panel slides up from the bottom. Pick what you are selling: Item, Digital or Service. Drag the bar at the top to make the panel taller or shorter. See Sell digital products and services.
- Fill in the essentials:
- Name.
- For an item or a service, Price type: Exact price, Starting from (for example "from GHS 150") or Ask for price (your assistant hands the chat to your team for the price). Digital products always have an exact price.
- Price and currency. The currency starts as the one your other products use, or for your first product the one for your country (for example GHS in Ghana). Change it if it's wrong.
- For an item, Stock: Count stock with a quantity, or Always available for something that never runs out, like a cake you bake to order. Digital products and services are always available.
- For a digital product, its Format. For a service, How long it takes.
- The product image, which shows in your catalog.
- The photos for customers right under it. These are what your assistant sends, so for an item like a phone, add real photos of the one you're selling. If you add none, it sends the product image. Digital products take sample pages here, and services photos of past work.
- For a digital product or a service, the download or payment link or booking link.
- Press More details (optional) for the rest: category, status (Active, or Archived to hide it), a description, a video, specifications and Sales guidance. Items also have SKU, old price, condition and a buy link here. See Add photos and specifications and Set a lowest price. When you edit a product, these show straight away.
- Save.
Rachel's copy of your catalog updates as soon as you save a product.
Out of stock
When stock is 0, your assistant tells customers the product is out of stock. Products set to Always available are never shown as sold out; archive them when you stop selling them.
Video
Each product can have one MP4 video up to 16 MB, about a minute of phone video. Your assistant sends it only when a customer asks for a video. iPhone videos are often .MOV: save or share them as MP4 first.
