Connect email

Bring a Gmail, Outlook or other mailbox into Salescom.

In Salescom: Inboxes > Add inbox > Email

  1. Go to Inboxes in the sidebar and press Add inbox.
  2. Pick Email, then pick your provider:
    • Google for Gmail or Google Workspace. Sign in with Google and allow access.
    • Microsoft for Outlook or Microsoft 365. Sign in with Microsoft and allow access.
    • Other Providers for any other mailbox. Enter a name for the inbox and the email address customers write to.
  3. Add the team members who should see these emails.

If Google or Microsoft is greyed out, it isn't switched on for Salescom yet. Use Other Providers for now, or contact support.

Other providers: receiving and sending

After you create the inbox, Salescom shows one of two things:

  • A forwarding address. Set your mailbox to forward all incoming email to it. Your email provider may ask you to confirm the address first. Forward replies too, not just new emails, so threads stay together.
  • A note to set up IMAP and SMTP. Open the inbox, go to Configuration, and turn on IMAP (to receive) and SMTP (to send). Your email provider's help pages list the server names and ports. Many providers need an "app password" here rather than your normal password.

Until one of these is set up, no emails come in.

If emails don't show up

  • Check the forwarding rule is turned on, and forwards every email.
  • Check your spam folder and your provider's forwarding log for blocked messages.
  • For Google or Microsoft, open the inbox and press Reauthorize if it shows Your inbox is disconnected.
