Connect Facebook Messenger

Answer messages sent to your Facebook page from Salescom.

In Salescom: Inboxes > Add inbox > Facebook

Before you start

  • You need a Facebook page for your business, not just a personal profile.
  • Sign in with a Facebook account that has full control (admin access) of that page. If someone else made the page, ask them to give you full control first in the page's settings.

Connect it

  1. Go to Inboxes in the sidebar and press Add inbox.
  2. Pick Facebook.
  3. Sign in with Facebook and allow access. When Facebook asks which pages to share, tick the page you want.
  4. Back in Salescom, pick the page under Choose Page, give the inbox a name and press Create Inbox.
  5. Add the team members who should see these chats.

Salescom only gets your page's messages. It can never read your private Facebook messages.

Send a message to your page from another Facebook account. It shows up in Conversations within a few seconds.

Good to know

  • Messenger only lets businesses reply within 24 hours of the customer's last message.
  • If Facebook signs you out later, the inbox shows Your inbox is disconnected. Open the inbox, press Reauthorize and sign in again.

If it doesn't work

  • Your page isn't in the list: you either don't have full control of the page, or you didn't tick it when Facebook asked. Start again and tick the page.
  • Facebook is greyed out in the list: Messenger isn't switched on for your workspace yet. Contact support.
  • A yellow notice says Facebook is temporarily unavailable: this is a problem on Meta's side. You can't create the inbox until it clears.
